Team Lighting got out on the water today and had a pretty good day. Finally got my first fish of the season out of the way. At the end of the day I ended up with two decent fish, with Chris getting the biggest of the day. Day started out a little rough with me breaking my line and losing a spinnerbait. Chris went through 2 of his 3 reels and had a little trouble setting the hook. I also may or may not have hooked the largest fish of my life which I then lost. Once we got on the fish though we were good. Also surprisingly enough got my first two topwater frog hits this season. Didn’t quite set the hook because I’m not really used to my new rod yet. We also saw the king of all snapping turtles which was cool and terrifying at the same time. Here are some pictures from the day.
We loaded up my truck and headed out. An orange poncho served well as our warning signal.
Started the day out with this fish. All the fish we caught today were on a worm.
Followed the first one up with this decent one.
Chris followed up with this nice fish. Overall good 3 hours for Team Lightning.
